An exciting remote trek to the northern part of the Gorkha region of Nepal. Considered as one of the most challenging treks in Nepal, the Manaslu Circuit will reward us with an unparalleled alpine adventure. Opened in 1991, this incredible area offers a combination of rich cultural heritage, unsurpassed natural beauty, and unparalleled biological diversity.
An impressively towering mountain, with huge glaciers and snowfields, the Manaslu area is mostly in the northern part of the Gorkha district. Geographically, the upper reaches of Budhi Gandaki river are, like Manang, “on the other side” of the Himalyas, drier and colder. This is still a very remote area and, as such spared by tourism. There are no real lodges and few tea houses. This area also lacks communication facilities, making rescue difficult. Trails are rough, often hanging precipitously over the river and at places exposed to rockfalls and landslides.
This trek is a serious one for experienced trekkers only, and not for beginners.
