Everest Base Camp Trek (including a visit to Khumjung, home of our Sherpas)

April 8 through May 8, 2020 | Land Cost $5600

A spectacular must do trek with breathtaking views to the world’s most famous “Base Camp”, with side trips to Tokyo Lakes and Cho-La Pass.

Join Rick and Celia Wilcox for the International Trekking/Climbing classic Everest Base Camp Trekking adventure. Our trek to Everest Base Camp differs from all the rest by doing the less traveled loop going up the Tokyo Valley after spending two nights at the Zamling Hotel in Namche Bazaar, crossing over the Cho-La, entering the Khumbu Valley, and up to Gorak Shep where we spend three nights.

We visit Everest Base Camp on a day hike from Gorak Shep and then the next day we climb Kalipathar for magnificent views of Everest. We then leave Gorak Shep for our return down the Khumbu Valley wandering through yak pastures, visiting the Buddhist Monastery Tengboche, and on to visit our Sherpa families in Khumjung before returning to Namche Bazaar to rest and then on to Lukla and Kathmandu.

As of December 2018, the flight from Boston thru Doha into Kathmandu is about $1500. To secure your place on the Everest Base Camp Trek, a deposit of $1000 is due by December 28th.
